The genealogical database made accessible on this site by Groupe BMS2000 is the fruit of the cooperation of 22 genealogical societies of Quebec and Ontario. It covers the period from the beginning of the French colony until the end of the XXth century.

Not only is it the most important database of verified genealogical data, which genealogists can consult on Internet, but also, the only one working on a cooperative basis and not belonging to private interests.

Version 12 of BMS2000 counts, since September 2008, more than seven million baptismal, marriage and burial records covering the beginning of “Nouvelle-France” colonization up to 1993. Later on, Groupe BMS2000 expects to include in its database ALL baptismal, marriage and burial certificates of Quebec and its immediate surroundings. Thus, BMS2000 is already and will remain the REFERENCE in genealogical research all around Quebec and neighboring provinces and states.
